The best way to figure out how to get a mark would be to look at a content essay sample, but doing so without any advice can be overpowering. How do you reveal insight? Is your score affected by typos? What's a good way organized?

The sample content essays that follow were written in response. The rater commentary that follows each sample article clarifies how the response meets the criteria for that score.

Below you'll find selected examples of documents which "worked," as nominated by our admissions committee. These entries are different and unique however, they each assisted the admissions reader into learning more about the student beyond the transcripts and lists of actions.

Your aim in writing your content essays is to create a self-portrait that puts you ahead of your competitors at your target schools and singles you out. Your documents will have to be thoughtful, creative, and compelling to achieve this. Below you will find sample essays that serve as illustrations of content essay superiority. As you read them, there are a few key elements that you should take note of: the distinct individuality of each composition, the very clear theme, the engaging opening, and also the finish that ties the essay with each other, making it a complete, coherent unit.
