Evaluation of a Weight Loss Program

A weight loss system is an inherent component of a daily plan for almost all Americans. Therefore, the choice of an effective weight loss system influences whether Americans will be able to lose weight effectively or not. Choosing a weight loss system, special attention should be paid to how it influences the healthcare conditions in general. A good weight loss system should focus on losing weight and improving healthcare conditions in particular.

A weight loss system provided in the article entitled “Aim for a Healthy Weight” (n. d.) was chosen for analysis. The program contained a lot of effective claims for the success of the program.
First and foremost, it was noticed that people should consume fruits, vegetables, low-fat or fat-free dairy products on a regular basis (“Aim for a Healthy Weight,” n. d.).
Secondly, people should consume fish, eggs, beans, lean meats, and nuts.
Thirdly, it was suggested that people should reduce the consumption of added sugars, sodium, and trans fats. In addition, people should take control of the size of their portions. They should not have additional portions, because additional portions provoke appetite and people are encouraged to eat more. However, those men who want to lose their weight safely should have eating plans that contain approximately 1,500-1,800 calories per day (“Aim for a Healthy Weight,” n. d.). Low-calorie diets that encourage consuming 800 calories per day or less are forbidden because they can cause severe healthcare consequences. People should consult doctors to make sure what number of calories per day is appropriate for them. Veazey (2011) noticed that people should develop an objective attitude to weight loss systems because there are many people who cannot evaluate their weight objectively. It was further added that “among children, 81% of 10-year-old are afraid of being fat, whereas only 46% of 9- to 11-year-olds are “sometimes” or “very often” on diets” (Veazey, 2011, p. 21).

The analyzed weight loss system suggested that those people who want to lose weight should have food exchange lists (“Aim for a Healthy Weight,” n. d.). They help to check out the appropriate size of the portion for all food groups. In addition, they provide a list of food choices that are appropriate for each food group. People should be aware of shopping tips. They should read food labels very carefully in order to choose food correctly. People should be aware of …
